When using Google or Bing (or another search engine), consider not clicking the first few links. They are generally called "sponsored links" and are usually highlighted in a different color.

Reason: Many times these links lead to sites that will infect your PC. Unless you know the site listed in a sponsored link, skip it and go down a little further. This is especially true if you are searching for anything related to malware, spyware, viruses, etc.

We keep a local copy of the following maleware/spyware and antivirus tools on our server. We do this because sometimes malware/virus infections can prevent you from going to known maleware/AV site to get the cleaning tool. Having the tool at our site increases you chances of being able to download something to remove the infestation.

We recommend downloading from here, installing and running a scan prior to updating. Once you can run a clean scan, then run an update and scan again. Remember, cleaning malware and viruses off you PC can take several passes; one time through for an infected PC is generally not enough.
