Mission Statement

Our mission is to help your company use its IT dollars efficiently, effectively and effortlessly while keeping you productive, current, secure, and legal.

How Are We Different?

  • We genuinely care about the health of your business - We are not simply a vendor or a repair service. We are your information technology (IT) staff, able to provide services comparable to those of larger service providers. We learn your business, employees, customers, processes, and what affects your bottom line; therefore, we become an integral and knowledgeable part of your business.
  • We make IT work for you - Information technology should not be a burden on your company, productivity or your checkbook. 2DE puts information technology to work for your organization; we fit IT to your business, not fit your business to IT as so many other companies do.
  • We don't require contracts - We have found that hourly rates work better for our clients. If the economy is hard or your business is tight on money, you don't need to call us that month, it's completely up to you. However, if your company prefers contracts, we are happy to discuss.
  • We are not Bob's Neighborhood Computer Repair - (No offense to Bob), but we have more than 30 years of Fortune 500 experience, and we use those valuable skills to support and improve every IT aspect of your business. Note that the "over 30 years" is for one person, our president, not a combination of 30 people with 1 year experience. Our combined number is well over 50 years.
  • We stop the finger pointing - Even if it is something you didn't contract us for, we will figure out how to fix it or we will make the calls, handle the technical questions and set up the appointments. We will never tell you that it's someone else's responsibility to fix, then leave.
  • We are not a reseller - We don't pressure you with sales. Our expert advice is readily available to assist you with your planning. We have a partner we can recommend for your purchasing convenience. But no matter the product or store - buy it, and we will support it.
  • When you call us, you'll get a person on the other end - We try to answer every call from clients on the first call. But life sometimes gets busy, so If you don't reach us right away, leave a message and we will have one of our knowledgeable technicians return your call within the hour. No phone trees, no buttons, and no hard to understand English!

Company History

2nd Door Enterprises, Inc. (2DE) was established in 1998 to provide affordable, high quality information technology services and application development to small and medium-sized businesses.

Over the years, while working in the pharmaceutical industry, I received many calls to help local businesses resolve computer, network and software issues. It was apparent these small and medium-sized businesses were not receiving the services they needed and deserved either in quality or in price or both. After many years of watching this not change, in fact get worse, I started 2DE.

In addition to the overpriced, less-than-stellar service, I also noted the lack of qualified talent coming out of today's educational pool. 2DE provides an opportunity for young people to receive more focused, relevant training via on-the-job opportunities with real computer networks in real world businesses, not classroom labs. Young people have many great ideas and skills; 2DE tunes that existing knowledge and energy for use in the business world. The result? Young people are better trained for business, and 2DE stays fresh with new ideas.

And for those wondering where the name 2nd Door came from . . . Nothing exciting here, my son had a dream. He was looking for a way to market his software skills and thought of 2nd Door Software. I took the name and changed Software to Enterprises as we would be doing much more than software. Today we are 2nd Door Enterprises, Inc. We are small, but solid and very good at what we do, and growing.

President Biography

2nd Door Enterprises, Inc.'s president and senior network architect is Bradley S. Largent. Born and raised in Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley, Brad started his computer destiny originally by exploring electronics. This began when he was 13ish; tearing things apart, building electronic kits, well, mostly tearing things apart. His electronic interests continued into junior high and high school where he was introduced to computers. His electronic and computer interests continued while in the Navy in the early to mid 70's.

After leaving the Navy, Brad with his freshly obtained FCC license and a business partner started his first business. The business provided TV and MATV services to the Holiday Inns in the LA area. His business also provided installation and repair of VHF and UHF aircraft radio for private planes at the Hollywood-Burbank and Van Nuys airports. And lastly, security, audio and video systems design, installation and repair to homes and businesses in the LA area. PC's were just coming out around this time and Brad worked on those too; Apple II, TRS-80, Altair, SWTC 6800 (still has his TRS-80 and SWTC 6800, can you say geek).

This was going very well but the call of computers was strong, with no real training options available Brad attended Control Data Institute to receive more formal training on computers. Brad graduated at the top of the class and was the first to be hired beginning a career that has now spanned 39 years as of this writing.

Brad spent the first seven years of his career working for two computer companies holding such positions and computer/network technician (networks really didn't exist then, just being invented), technical support to field technicians, programmer, and a supervisor. Following his time with computer companies, Brad was hired into the pharmaceutical industry where he worked for 25 years. In 2002, Brad stepped into 2nd Door full-time and has been here since and from what we know intends to die here.

Over his career, Brad has worked on mainframes minis and micros, and probably every peripheral (well at least it seems like it he says). He has designed microcomputers, programmed in languages from assembler to C. His career took him into the network arena where he has designed, maintained and repaired, LANS, WANS, and wireless in most all their various forms from serial and DECNet, to Ethernet and FDDI for LANS, ATM to Sonet for WANS and, well, many more. We could fill this page up with abbreviations and acronyms. Suffice it to say that Brad has worked with almost every network technology and protocol that's existed since the late sixties.

Bottom line, all these skills, all this experience, all this knowledge is what's behind 2nd Door Enterprises, Inc.
